Bill Nye the Science Guy is married! The engineer, 66, married journalist Liza Mundy LAST MONTH

Bill Nye the Science Guy quietly married journalist and author Liza Mundy last month. The 66-year-old engineer said yes in a private ceremony in Washington DC, according to a Wednesday report from People. This is a second marriage for Nye who was married to Blair Tindall for a year in 2006.  

Nye, a graduate of Cornell University, is best known for his television shows Billy Nye The Science Guy and Bill Nye Saves The World.

The wedding took place at the Castle Building’s Haupt Garden at the Smithsonian Institute in DC. Robert Picardo, who played The Doctor on Star Trek, was the famous officiant and the couple wrote their own vows, according to the site. His daughter Anna and his brother Darby were present.

Their first dance was to Sam Cooke’s rendition of Wonderful World. The blonde reporter looked stunning in a sleeveless ivory satin dress with a jagged hemline and a rhinestone-encrusted belt.

A good fit: The 66-year-old engineer said yes in a private ceremony in Washington DC. Seen in May in New York And Nye wore a black tuxedo with a white shirt, a black bow tie and an orange flower on his lapel.

Their wedding photographer was longtime White House photographer Pete Souza. Nye’s new wife has quite an impressive resume.

She was a reporter for the Washington Post and later wrote books such as Code Girls: The Untold Story of the American Women Code Breakers of World War II.

When she mentioned Nye’s cryptanalyst mother, Jacqueline Jenkins-Nye, in her book Code Girls, he emailed Mundy. They developed a relationship and started dating.

Nye was seen wearing her gold wedding band at the June 17 premiere of The End Is Nye in New York City.
