Bronx-born rapper Lil Tjay shot in N.J., requiring emergency surgery: report
Bronx-born rapper Lil Tjay was shot in New Jersey, requiring emergency surgery, according to a report.
The artist’s condition is currently unknown after the incident in Edgewater, TMZ reported.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office said Wednesday that authorities are investigating the shooting of two 22-year-olds who were wounded in Edgewater, but didn’t identify either victim.
Officers responded at 12:08 a.m. Wednesday to a report of a shooting at 14 The Promenade, Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
“Responding officers found a 22-year-old victim with multiple gunshot wounds,” Musella said in a statement.
“Officers also responded to the Exxon Station located at 478 River Road, Edgewater, where they located another 22-year-old victim with a gunshot wound,” his announcement continued. “Both victims were transported to an area hospital where they are being treated.”

The prosecutor’s office didn’t immediately respond to the Daily News’ request for further comment.
Lil Tjay, whose real name is Tione Jayden Merritt, released his debut album, “True 2 Myself,” in 2019. The project, which features collaborations with rappers Lil Wayne and Lil Baby, debuted at the No. 5 spot on the Billboard Hot 200 albums chart.
