Kanye West Posts Mysterious Instagram Death Notice for 'Skete Davidson'
Kanye West has posted a mock death notice for Pete Davidson, following reports the comedian's romance with his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, has ended.
West, who has legally changed his name to Ye, was openly critical of Davidson in his Instagram posts, nicknaming the Saturday Night Live star "Skete" during the several months that the TV personality dated Kardashian.
And West continued to weigh in on the relationship, even in its apparent demise on Monday, when he made a rare return to Instagram to post on the matter.
The rapper and fashion designer shared a mock-up of a New York Times front page that was emblazoned with the words: "SKETE DAVIDSON DEAD AT AGE 28."
The bottom of the front page mock-up appeared to allude to West's fallout with fellow rapper Kid Cudi, with small-print text that read: "Kid Cudi meant to play funeral but fearful of bottle throwers."
Apparently letting the image do all of the talking, West opted to forgo adding a caption to the post about Davidson, who was romantically linked to Kardashian for nine months.
In early March, the musician faced criticism after unveiling his "Eazy" music video, which depicted a claymation representation of Davidson being kidnapped and buried alive.
That, coupled with West's public statements about wanting to rekindle his relationship with Kardashian, sparked criticism from current The Daily Show host Trevor Noah, who accused the rapper of "harassing" his ex-wife.
