Leeds United vs. Chelsea result, highlights & analysis as Marsch's men demolish sorry Blues

Rodrigo Moreno continued his prolific start to the Premier League season as a rampant Leeds stormed to a 3-0 win over Chelsea at Elland Road.

An awful error from Edouard Mendy allowed Brenden Aaronson to open the scoring in the 33rd minute and in-form Spanish forward Rodrigo made it four in three games this season when he headed home Jack Harrison’s excellent free-kick delivery four minutes later.

Raheem Sterling missed a good first-minute chance for Thomas Tuchel’s visitors and had a goal ruled out for offside when the game was still 0-0,

but Chelsea had more or less vanished as an attacking force by the time Rodrigo and Harrison reversed roles in the 69th minute for the latter to finish from close range.

Leeds’ impressive start to the season under Jesse Marsch now reads seven points and seven goals scored in three matches.

Tuchel is winless in the past two, yet to see any of his forward players find the net and saw Chelsea’s misery completed when Kalidou Koulibaly collected a second yellow card fouling substitute Joe Gelhardt.

Sterling playing on the left of the front three with Kai Havertz through the middle gave Chelsea’s front three a more threatening look, but their afternoon fell apart after Mendy’s moment to forget.
